GROUP EXERCISE LEADER (GEL) COURSE
5-7 DECEMBER 2019, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
TRIBE Fit, Silverene Tower - Dubai Marina
Our Group Exercise Leader (GEL) course or otherwise known as ETM (Exercise to music) course is a first in the Middle East designed to help new instructors take their first step into group fitness.
GEL students will be able to register with REPs and teach in clubs around the region.
Courses last three days covering both practical and theoretical elements of conducting a group fitness class.
Upon completing the GEL course, you will be able to create your own choreography and teach your own Group Fitness classes, Circuit classes, Bootcamps and HIIT Group classes. Also, GEL qualification is a prerequisite before joining any pre-choreographed studio classes (Piloxing, Barre, Les Mills, Mossa, Zumba...).
• Basic Introduction to anatomy and physiology
• The principles of fitness and training
• How to interpret music and beat
• Structuring choreography
• Planning a safe and effective group fitness class
• Basic teaching skills for leading a group class
• An Introduction to group training classes (Zuu, HBX, Les Mills, Mossa, Zumba, Etc.)
At the end of the 3-days students are assessed through a short practical presentation, using their new skills to teach a small section of a group fitness class to their peers. Students will be awarded either a Pass or a with-held result.
On receipt of a Pass result and submission of a valid CPR certification students are eligible to take the next step and join a Les Mills Initial Module training or a freestyle program.
On receipt of a withheld result, students have the opportunity to re-sit the final practical assessment in a future GEL course or submit their practical assessment online to be assessed.
